experimental video work juxtaposing very different three films (Penny Serenade, The Blood of Jesus, and Scrub Me  Mama With a Boogie Beat), all released and widely seen in 1941. All archival works are in the public domain, and this film experiments with freely using these materials

experimental short documentary exploring the life of Joséphine Baker through archival footage, photos, documents, and an interview completed months before her death. 

first in a planned series exploring the professional contributions of notable and famous Black women, the struggles within their personal lives, and how they interconnect with men, navigate motherhood, and move and thrive amongst the challenges brought by society, institutions, misconceptions, and stereotypes and at times, surveillance and oppression.

two siblings navigate a complicated relationship with their mother, a former video vixen long past her heyday of early 2000's glory.

This project placed in the top 30 as a semifinalist in the Sound & Scene: NewFest + Concord Short Film Initiative. Dreamgirl was recently workshopped in the Tribeca x Canva x Kickstarter workshop. It is under consideration for a $20,000 grant, only open to workshop participants.

Using a combination of sit-down interviews, archival footage, and cinema vertie, this short explores the psyche of three Black women as they actively seek out romantic partners and meditate on the realities and struggles of the modern, technology-based dating world and its impact on the ever-complicated relationship between Black men and women.

I shot rough footage for this film in Fall 2024, but decided to scrap it and start over. This film is in development.
